Next Steps: Booking System Implementation

This document outlines the next steps for integrating the booking systems for Higher Nurture. We will be using Acuity Scheduling for consultations and follow-ups, and Eventbrite for workshops and group events. Both systems require a reliable payment gateway – we recommend using Stripe.

1. Acuity Scheduling Integration

Step 1: Sign Up and Configure Acuity

• Create an account at Acuity Scheduling.
• Set up your appointment types:
  • Initial consultations: £75 (up to 1.5 hours)
  • Follow-up appointments: £35 (30 minutes)
  • Free 10-minute call
• Embed the Acuity booking widget on your Squarespace site using an Embed Code block.

Step 2: Set Up Payment Processing in Acuity

• Log into your Acuity account and navigate to the Payment Settings section.
• Select Stripe as your payment gateway. If you don’t have a Stripe account yet, sign up at Stripe.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Stripe account, including entering your business and bank details.
• Perform a test booking to ensure that the payment process is working correctly.

2. Eventbrite Integration for Workshops

Step 1: Set Up Your Eventbrite Account

• Register for an account at Eventbrite.
• Create your workshop events with all relevant details (dates, times, location, and pricing – for example, £95 per person with a light lunch included).
• Embed the Eventbrite widget or link on your Squarespace site to allow visitors to book their places.

Step 2: Configure Payment Processing in Eventbrite

• Within your Eventbrite dashboard, navigate to the Payment Options or Payment Processing section.
• Select Stripe as your payment gateway. If necessary, sign up for a Stripe account at Stripe.
• Review the fee structure – note that Eventbrite typically charges around 2% plus 50p per ticket (plus any applicable Stripe fees) for paid events.
• Test the ticket purchasing process to ensure that payments are processed correctly and tickets are issued.

3. Final Integration and Testing

• Confirm that both the Acuity and Eventbrite booking widgets are correctly embedded on your Squarespace site.
• Carry out end-to-end testing:
  • Book a consultation and complete the payment process via Acuity.
  • Register for a workshop through Eventbrite and verify that payment processing works seamlessly.
• Monitor your Stripe dashboard to track transactions and resolve any issues promptly.

4. Additional Considerations

• Update your website’s privacy and security policies to reflect the new booking and payment processes.
• Inform your clients of the new, streamlined booking experience and the secure payment process.
• Consider setting up automated email reminders (available within both Acuity and Eventbrite) to reduce no-shows and improve customer engagement.
